Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Central City Value took on Camino Nuevo Dalzell Lance Campus two weeks ago. The Jaguars were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over the Tigers. Considering the Jaguars have won three matchups by more than nine runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Angel Chino spent all five innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on four hits and racked up six Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Central City Value let Nicholas Hernandez and Esaih Guzman run wild. Hernandez got on base in all four of his plate appearances with five stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI, while Guzman got on base in all three of his plate appearances with six stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Central City Value is 2-1 when Guzman posts two or more stolen bases, but 1-2 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Angel Santiago, who went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases and two runs.
Central City Value was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .409. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Central City Value is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a massive bump to their 3-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.5 runs over those games. As for Animo Bunche, their loss dropped their record down to 0-6.
Animo Bunche might still be hurting after the 17-2 defeat they got from Central City Value when the teams last played on April 2nd. Can the Stallions avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
