The Superior Wildcats won the last time they faced the David City Scouts, and things went their way on Saturday too. Superior managed a 55-49 win over the Scouts. The win made it back-to-back wins for Superior.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Superior to victory, but perhaps none more so than Sadie Cornell, who scored 29 points along with six steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Cornell has scored all season. Reagan Meyers was another key contributor, almost dropping a double-double on 14 points and nine rebounds.
Superior has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season. As for David City, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-6.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Superior will take on the Redmen at TBD on Monday. Smith Center presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Wildcats in their respective states (the Redmen are ranked 34th in Kansas, while the Wildcats are ranked 85th in Nebraska). As for David City, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against the Cougars at 5:15 p.m. Cross County's defense has only allowed 29.8 points per game this season, so the Scouts' offense will have their work cut out for them.
