Carlisle is 0-10 against Cumberland Valley since December of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Carlisle Thundering Herd will head out on the road to challenge the Cumberland Valley Eagles at 7:15 p.m. Carlisle is no doubt hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses.
On Tuesday, Carlisle beat Waynesboro 52-43.
Meanwhile, Cumberland Valley was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Monday as they fell 37-32 to Central Dauphin. While losing is never fun, Cumberland Valley can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 339th, while Central Dauphin is ranked 40th).
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Sienna Manns, who scored 14 points. Another player making a difference was Sophie Warren, who scored seven points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Cumberland Valley struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only two offensive rebounds. They are 1-3 when they can't control their own glass like that.
Carlisle's win bumped their record up to 7-13. As for Cumberland Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 6-14.
Carlisle came up short against Cumberland Valley in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, falling 40-35. Can Carlisle avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
