The Chowchilla Tribe will face off against the Torres Toros at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Chowchilla is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.2 runs per game this season.
Chowchilla will roll into the contest after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any runs on Saturday, then bounced right back against Firebaugh on Wednesday. The Tribe were the clear victors by a 15-2 margin over the Eagles. The Tribe haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Austin Lathrop made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2025. He was also big at the plate, earning one RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those runs were his first of the season.
In other batting news, Chowchilla got a massive performance out of Tristan Beardsley, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI Beardsley has posted since back in March of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Oliver Fuller, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Chowchilla always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .676. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Firebaugh only posted an OBP of .400.
Exeter hit Torres with a eight-run second inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Toros came up short against the Monarchs, falling 12-1. The game marked the Toros' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.
Torres saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Austin Meza, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.
The victory got Chowchilla back to even at 2-2. As for Torres, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-2.
Chowchilla couldn't quite get it done against Torres in their previous meeting back in February of 2023 as they fell 11-6. Can the Tribe avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
