Sheldon extended their losing streak to six on Tuesday, dropping them down to 1-12. They fell 12-7 to the Destiny Christian Academy Lions. The loss was just more heartbreak for the Huskies who fell 8-6 when the teams previously met back in March of 2025.
Sheldon got a good showing from Antonio Garcia, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.
At the plate, Sheldon saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Freddy Saldana, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one double. Nolan Nonog also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
As for Destiny Christian Academy, they pushed their record up to 9-6 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.5 runs over those games.
On Destiny Christian Academy's side, JT Santos and Vincent Scott made a big impact no matter where they played. On the mound, Santos struck out seven batters over 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Meanwhile, Scott pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. At the plate, Santos went 1-for-2 with two runs, while Scott went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those two runs gave Scott a new career-high.
In other batting news, Dante Maranise was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Lucas Hughes, who went 3-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one double.
Coming up, Sheldon is taking a road trip to challenge Cosumnes Oaks at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Destiny Christian Academy, they will face off against Rosemont at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
