The Medicine Lodge Indians are taking a road trip to take on the Sterling Black Bears at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Medicine Lodge will bounce into Friday's matchup after beating Conway Springs, who they had gone 0-7 against in their seven prior meetings. The Indians enjoyed a cozy 28-13 victory over the Cardinals on Friday.

It was another big night for Jack Schreiner, who rushed for 132 yards and a pair of TDs on only 12 carries. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in rushing touchdowns (two). Speaking of playmakers, who could forget Braxx Farr, who went all the way with a kickoff return for a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Sterling strolled into their game on Friday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Ellinwood 43-8. Sterling's win was all the more impressive since the Eagles were averaging only 12.25 points allowed on the season.
This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Zane Farney and Wyatt Newberry. Farney rushed for 130 yards and three scores on only 13 carries while Newberry rushed for 88 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only seven carries. Farney's rushing production has been exceptional for a while as that marked his 13th straight game with at least 114 rushing yards dating back to last season.
Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Sterling proved: they limited Ellinwood to a paltry 2.7 yards per carry. The team can thank Jacob Lewis for the heroic effort on defense: he. Sterling didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 9.1.
The victory got Medicine Lodge back to even at 2-2. As for Sterling, their record now sits at 4-0.
Friday's game might be decided on the ground. Medicine Lodge has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 179 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Sterling struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 372.2 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's contest turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Medicine Lodge came up short against Sterling when the teams last played back in October of 2024, falling 33-26. Can the Indians avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
