The Morrill Lions won the last time they faced the Crawford Rams, and things went their way on Saturday too. Morrill secured a 46-42 W over Crawford.
Leading Morrill to victory were Wyler Fisher and Pittman Ashwin. Fisher scored 15 points along with six rebounds, while Ashwin scored 21 points along with five rebounds and three steals. The match was Ashwin's eighth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Ryder Green, who scored five points.
Morrill now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Crawford, their loss dropped their record down to 7-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Morrill and Bayard will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 9th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. As for Crawford, they will head out on the road to face off against Guernsey-Sunrise on Thursday. Guernsey-Sunrise presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Crawford in their respective states (Guernsey-Sunrise is ranked 45th in Wyoming, while Crawford is ranked 151st in Nebraska).
