Football Recap: Graham Starts Season with Victory Against Midland Christian

Graham had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They walked away with a 17-7 victory over the Midland Christian Mustangs on Friday. The Steers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Mustangs, too.

Jace Gill was a one-man wrecking crew as he rushed for 90 yards and one touchdown, and also threw for 230 yards and one TD. Those 90 rushing yards gave him a new career-high.

Another reason for the win was Graham's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for four sacks. Denton Lauster was especially locked on to Midland Christian's QB and sacked him twice.

Coming up, Graham will square off against Springtown at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Midland Christian, they will take on Bishop Lynch at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
