Rancho Bernardo has gone 8-2 against San Marcos recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Broncos will head out on the road to square off against the Knights at 4:00 p.m. Rancho Bernardo is coming into the contest hot, having won their last four games.
If Rancho Bernardo beats San Marcos with seven runs on Monday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two games with that exact score. The Broncos walked away with a 7-4 victory over Poway on Friday.
Noah Villa looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (four).

Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but San Marcos ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They came out on top against Torrey Pines by a score of 7-2. Isaac Esquer tossed a big game, striking out six batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Maddox Ponsford, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Noah Sumner also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
San Marcos' win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-4-1. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.8 runs over those games. As for Rancho Bernardo, their record now sits at 11-9.
Rancho Bernardo came out on top in a nail-biter against San Marcos when the teams last played back in April of 2024, sneaking past 3-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Broncos since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
