New Mission has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will take on the Charlestown Townies at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the pair will really light up the scoreboard.
On Wednesday, New Mission didn't have too much trouble with the Eagles at home as they won 71-57.
Meanwhile, Charlestown had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 28.7 points), and they went ahead and made it seven on Tuesday. They snuck past Lynn English with a 78-74 victory.
New Mission has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. As for Charlestown, they pushed their record up to 12-1 with that victory, which was their third straight at home.
New Mission ended up a good deal behind the Townies in their previous matchup back in January, losing 73-54. Can New Mission avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
