Basketball Recap: Granite Hills Snaps Six-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Granite Hills can finally bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They snuck past the Riverdale Cowboys with a 46-40 win. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Grizzlies also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2023.

Several Cowboys players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Karen Ayala, who posted 19 points. That was a full 47.5% of Riverdale's points, marking the sixth time in a row she's had more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Valeria Olguin, who scored 15 points.

Granite Hills' victory ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-5. As for Riverdale, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Granite Hills will head out to face off against Laton at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Laton's defense has only allowed 28.8 points per game this season, so Granite Hills' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Riverdale, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Dos Palos at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Riverdale is facing Dos Palos at the right time seeing as Dos Palos is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
