The Porterville Panthers waltzed into their game  on Thursday with two straight wins  but they left with three. They came out on top against Redwood by a score of  45-36. For Porterville, this counts as revenge for the   51-48 loss Redwood walked away with the last time they faced one another  back in December of 2023.
 Porterville found their leader in underclassman  Ryleigh Schoonover, who  dropped  a double-double on 19 points and 23  rebounds. Schoonover is absolutely dominating the  rebound category: she's  posted at least eight every time she's  taken the court this season.  Sare Ortiz was another key contributor,  scoring six points along with ten  rebounds and four  steals.
 Porterville's victory was  their third straight on the road, which  pushed their record up to 10-6. As for Redwood, their loss  ended  a  four-game streak of wins at home  and  dropped them to 10-9.
 Porterville will be staying on the road  on Saturday to face off against Madera at 4:00  p.m.  on January 13th. As for Redwood, they will look to defend their home court  on Wednesday against Monache at 6:30  p.m. Monache presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Redwood in California (Monache is ranked 61st, while Redwood is ranked 403rd).
