Northwest is a perfect 7-0 against South since October of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Grizzlies will venture away from home to take on the Titans at 7:00 p.m. One thing working in Northwest's favor is that they have posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.
Northwest is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Kansas' top teams: Manhattan, who was ranked seventh at the time (Northwest was ranked fifth). The Grizzlies breezed past the Indians to the tune of 40-13 on Friday. Considering the Grizzlies have won four matchups by more than 19 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

It was another big night for Augie Fast, who rushed for 254 yards and three TDs while picking up 14.9 yards per carry. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 121.3 rushing yards per game.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Northwest was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 330 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 152 rushing yards in 11 consecutive games dating back to last season.
Northwest didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Jamari Bland and Cordale Johnson. Johnson also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with six. Bland got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Meanwhile, South hadn't done well against Heights recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Titans won a contest that couldn't have been any closer, slipping by the Falcons 8-7. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Titans.
Northwest's record now sits at 5-1. As for South, their record is now 2-4.
Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground. Northwest has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 285.5 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like South struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 223.3 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's game turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Everything came up roses for Northwest against South when the teams last played back in November of 2024, as the squad secured a 62-28 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Grizzlies since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
