 Luca Simonelli was a  force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he  struck out six batters over  six innings while giving up just two earned  (and one unearned) runs off   five  hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in five consecutive appearances.
 On the hitting side,  Sean Dwyer made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and  got on base  in three of his four plate appearances with two  stolen bases and one  run.
 North Providence's victory bumped their record up to 10-1. As for Smithfield, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-5.
