Grace extended their postseason success on Friday against Bosco Tech. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over the Tigers. The victory was nothing new for the Lancers as they're now sitting on four straight.
Dylan Molnar tossed a big game, pitching eight innings while giving up just one earned run off seven hits. Grace is 5-1 when Molnar allows two or fewer earned runs, but 9-10-2 otherwise.
On the hitting side, Grace's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Gavin Willis, who got on base in three of his six plate appearances with one run.
Grace's record is now 14-11-2. As for Bosco Tech, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 23-7.
Looking ahead, Grace will be playing at home against Notre Dame at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The Titans will roll in looking for their tenth straight victory, something the Lancers surely won't give up without a fight. Bosco Tech does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
