The Palo Alto Vikings will head out to take on the Mountain View Spartans at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
On Saturday, Palo Alto beat Burlingame 6-1.
Nate Robinson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on six hits and racked up seven Ks.

On the hitting side, Palo Alto got a massive performance out of Coco Vonderhaar, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. The Vikings are 4-2 when Vonderhaar posts three or more hits, but 8-11 otherwise. Isaiah Walker was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Palo Alto hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They are 4-1 when they post two or more strikeouts.
Mountain View came out on top against Gunn on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run seventh inning. The Spartans put the hurt on the Titans with a sharp 8-2 victory. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Spartans have posted against the Titans since February 28, 2019.
Mountain View also let their pitcher toss all seven innings and he was also dialed-in: Brennan Dooley gave up just two earned runs on nine hits and racked up seven Ks. Dooley has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Austin Xu was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and one stolen base. Those four runs gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Orrock, who went 1-for-2 with three RBI and one run.
Palo Alto is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 12-13 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Mountain View, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 15-9.
Palo Alto came out on top in a nail-biter against Mountain View when the teams last played back in May of 2024, sneaking past 9-8. Do the Vikings have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Spartans turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
