After five games on the road, South Tahoe is heading back home. They will take on the Wooster Colts at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
South Tahoe posted their biggest win yet this season on Friday. They claimed a resounding 60-16 victory over Hug on the road. The victory was just what South Tahoe needed coming off of a 64-39 loss in their prior game.
South Tahoe can attribute much of their success to Ava Wolfe, who scored 18 points along with six steals and two blocks, and Campbell Mathews, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 12 rebounds. Mathews hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Avery Long, who scored four points along with ten rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, Wooster had to endure a six-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top in a nail-biter against McQueen back in December of 2023 and snuck past 37-34. The victory was just what Wooster needed coming off of a 65-17 defeat in their prior matchup.
South Tahoe has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a massive bump to their 9-7 record this season. As for Wooster, their victory bumped their record up to 2-8.
South Tahoe barely slipped by Wooster in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, winning 44-43. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Wooster's Isabella Caviglia, who scored 24 points.
