South Central recap Oct. 9, 2012
Blue Earth extended the longest winning streak in South Central this week by beating St. Peter, 27-13. The win marks sixth in a row for the the Buccaneers.
Waseca led the league in scoring this week after putting up 55 points on New Ulm.
The Eagles' offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Chris Mulder threw for 28 yards and Jackson Yackley had 16 yards receiving. On the ground Bryan Dewanz chipped in 47 yards. Aaron Stark helped New Ulm's passing attack out by catching one ball for 12 yards.
New Ulm's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Eagles feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Mulder has thrown for 687 yards and five touchdowns this season, while Isaiah Johnson has 15 catches for 234 yards. Johnson leads the league in rushing with 359 yards.
A big matchup in South Central this week will be when Fairmont takes on Blue Earth. As it stands, the Cardinals are in fourth, while Randy Kuechenmeilser's team is in first.
