Basketball Recap: Pottstown's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Pottstown came into Saturday's contest having lost six straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They came out on top against the Renaissance Academy Knights by a score of 33-26 on Saturday. For the Trojans, this counts as revenge for the 46-21 victory the Knights walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2024.

Pottstown's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Angelina Quiles led the charge by putting up ten points. Those ten points gave Quiles a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jayanna Hill, who posted ten points.

Renaissance Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Kasira Barber, who scored nine points along with six rebounds and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Raelyn Jones, who put up four points.

Pottstown's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-10. As for Renaissance Academy, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 6-9 record.

Pottstown will square off against Upper Perkiomen at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Pottstown is facing Upper Perkiomen at the right time seeing as Upper Perkiomen is stuck on a three-game losing streak. Renaissance Academy has already played their next match (against Calvary Christian Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
