The Fresno Christian Eagles's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They lost to Chowchilla at home by a decisive 40-21 margin. Fresno Christian was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Chowchilla apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.
Despite the defeat, Fresno Christian had strong showings from Sarah Guglielmana, who scored eight points along with 11 rebounds, and Anna Pascual, who scored seven points along with three steals. Pascual is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Chowchilla to victory, but perhaps none more so than Nour Escheik, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 14 rebounds. Escheik is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last seven games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Molly Silva, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Fresno Christian's loss dropped their record down to 6-17. As for Chowchilla, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a massive bump to their 9-9 record this season.
Fresno Christian will head out on the road to face off against Riverdale at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Riverdale is on a four-game streak of home losses, Fresno Christian a six-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change. Chowchilla will take on Minarets at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Minarets comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 19 points in their last four games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
