The Windsor Jaguars will venture away from home to square off against the Vintage Crushers at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Windsor has three straight victories, Vintage has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Windsor barely beat Ukiah the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Jaguars put the hurt on the Wildcats with a sharp 8-1 win on Friday.
Brandon Curry and Micah Sanders made a big impact no matter where they played. On the mound, Curry pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Sanders struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits. Curry has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. At the plate, Curry went 3-for-4 with two runs, while Sanders went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most hits Sanders has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Rogan Billigmeier and Noah Strozewski did most of the damage at the plate: Billigmeier went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run, while Strozewski got on base in all five of his plate appearances with one stolen base and one run. Those two RBI gave Billigmeier a new career-high.
Windsor always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .564. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Petaluma hit Vintage with a five-run third inning on Saturday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Crushers took a 10-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Trojans.
Dario Freschi and Blake Porter stepped up to the plate in a big way. Freschi got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base, while Porter went 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base. Vintage is 5-2 when Porter posts two or more runs, but 3-7 otherwise.
Windsor pushed their record up to 11-6 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.7 runs over those games. As for Vintage, they now have a losing record of 8-9.
Windsor skirted past Vintage 8-6 in their previous meeting back in May of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Jaguars since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
