Basketball Recap: Plainview Skates Past Lutheran-Northeast with Ease

Plainview barely beat Lutheran-Northeast the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Pirates claimed a resounding 63-36 win over the Eagles. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 63-18.

Leading Plainview to victory were Riley Miller and Pressley Alexander. Miller dropped a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds, while Alexander shot 50% from the field on her way to 14 points in addition to five boards and three steals. Miller is crushing it when it comes to rebounds: she's pulled down at least nine every time she's taken the court this season. Karalyn Lingenfelter was another key player, putting up nine points.

Plainview was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Lutheran-Northeast's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Emerson Rose-Hancock, who posted ten points and five boards, and Lexie Dinkel, who had ten points.

Plainview's victory bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Lutheran-Northeast, they are on a 23-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Coming up, Plainview will be home for the holidays to greet Madison at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lutheran-Northeast, they will venture away from home to face off against Boone Central at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
