The Inland Lakes Bulldogs will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against the Cheboygan Chiefs at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Inland Lakes' favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three matchups.
Last Wednesday, Inland Lakes earned a 55-44 victory over Rogers City.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Inland Lakes to victory, but perhaps none more so than Sam Schoonmaker, who scored 21 points along with eight rebounds. The game was Schoonmaker's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Noah Shugar was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with five steals.
Meanwhile, Cheboygan was the victim of a tough 62-37 loss at the hands of Charlevoix on Thursday. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Cheboygan in their matchups with Charlevoix: they've now lost eight in a row.
Inland Lakes' win bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Cheboygan, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-2.
Inland Lakes came up short against Cheboygan in their previous meeting back in January, falling 62-53. Can Inland Lakes avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
