The Leadership Public Schools Richmond Pumas were the 44-25 winner over Golden State Prep when they last played one another back in February of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Leadership Public Schools Richmond took a serious blow against Golden State Prep on Friday, falling 50-10.
Leadership Public Schools Richmond got a good chunk of their points from the dynamic duo of
Danika McDaniel and
Bianca Martinez, who each put up four points.
Golden State Prep's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Stephanie Alcala, who scored 24 points along with 6 steals and 5 assists. That makes it two consecutive games in which Alcala has scored at least 25% of Golden State Prep's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kassandra Lopez, who scored 8 points along with 6 rebounds and 6 steals.
Leadership Public Schools Richmond now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Golden State Prep, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Leadership Public Schools Richmond will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Madison Park Academy at 4:30 p.m. on December 11th. As for Golden State Prep, they will head out on the road to face off against Bay Tech at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
