Pitman proved they can win big last Thursday (they won by 11) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the Gridley Bulldogs 8-7. The win was familiar territory for the Pride, who have now won four matchups in a row.

Pitman's victory was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Ben Vilhauer, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI. Another was Nolan Walker, who got on base in two of his three plate appearances with two runs.

Pitman always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .519. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .519 or higher in three consecutive contests.

Pitman's win bumped their record up to 13-3. As for Gridley, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-5.

Pitman wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 21-0 loss against Millikan on the 10th. As for Gridley, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 20-1 defeat against San Luis Obispo on the 10th.
