Widefield took  a  six-run  loss the last time they faced off against Pueblo Central, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Gladiators came out on top in a nail-biter against the Wildcats on Monday, sneaking past  5-4. The  victory was nothing new for the Gladiators as they're now sitting on nine straight.
 Olivia McEwen spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered  just two earned  (and two unearned) runs on six hits.
 At the plate,  the team  relied heavily on  Isabella Monk, who  went 3-for-4 with two  stolen bases and three  RBI. That's the most  stolen bases  she has posted since back in October of 2024.  Mia Hoffpauir was another key player,  going 1-for-2 with one  run and one  RBI.
Widefield's win bumped their record up to 18-2. As for Pueblo Central, their defeat  ended  a  seven-game streak of away wins  and  brought them to 18-4.
 Widefield has already played their next contest,  a  17-0  victory against Palmer on the 7th. As for Pueblo Central, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next  matchup,  a  6-5  win against Discovery Canyon on the 11th.
