The Mesa Grande Academy Cardinals's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their fourth straight loss dating back to last season. They fell to Lucerne Valley 35-30.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lucerne Valley to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jasmine Pepper, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds. Chloe Evans was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with 11 steals and eight rebounds.
Mesa Grande Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Lucerne Valley, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-4.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Grand Terrace the next time they take the court. Lucerne Valley will head out to face Grand Terrace at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, while Mesa Grande Academy will head out to face them at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday.
