El Camino has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against the Canyon Crest Academy Ravens at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Tuesday, El Camino was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 45-39 to Mission Vista.
Despite the loss, El Camino saw an underclassman step up: Alana Hoskins scored 19 points along with six rebounds and four steals. That was a full 48.7% of El Camino's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Vanessa McFerran, who scored six points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, Canyon Crest Academy came up short against Escondido Charter on Monday and fell 55-48.
Despite the defeat, Canyon Crest Academy got a solid performance out of Sofia Colon, who scored 20 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Colon has scored all season. Thrisha Boopathi was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
El Camino has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-13 record this season. As for Canyon Crest Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 9-9.
El Camino beat Canyon Crest Academy 62-54 when the teams last played back in November of 2018. Will El Camino repeat their success, or does Canyon Crest Academy have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
