Elgin came tearing into  Saturday's  contest with five straight wins  (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.8 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They skirted past the Canute Trojans  7-5.
  Ella Melton was  incredible,  going 2-for-4 with one  home run, three  RBI,  and two  runs. That's the most  RBI  she has posted  over her last 11  games. Another player making a difference was  Kynli Garrett, who  got on base  in all four of her plate appearances with two  runs, one  stolen base,  and one  double.
Elgin's victory bumped their record up to 15-5. As for Canute, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-2.
 Elgin has  already played their next  match (against Lookeba-Sickles), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Canute will be paying especially close attention to the Owls'  contest: after the Owls face off against the Panthers, they'll take on Canute again  at 7:00  p.m.  on Saturday.
