After a string of three wins, the Norwich Free Academy Wildcats's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They were beaten by New London 92-48. Norwich Free Academy has not had much luck with the Whalers recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.
New London was led to victory by Da'Shaun Phillips and Devan Williams. Phillips scored 21 points along with six assists, while Williams scored 25 points along with six steals and five assists. Williams hasn't dropped below 16 points for nine straight games. Cayden Simonds Gaskin was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with three steals.
Norwich Free Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 7-7. As for New London, their win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Norwich Free Academy will take on the Centaurs at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for New London, they will head out on the road to take on the Colonels at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Ledyard will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Connecticut Rankings (they are ranked 130th, while the Whalers are ranked 12th).
