The San Marcos Royals suffered their biggest loss since December 12, 2023 on Tuesday. They had to suffer through a rough 64-37 loss at the hands of Ventura. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points San Marcos has scored all season.
Skyler Knight was her usual excellent self, scoring 26 points along with seven rebounds and five steals for Ventura. Knight has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. Jessie Sebek was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with nine rebounds and two blocks.
San Marcos' loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-9. As for Ventura, the victory was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 21-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. San Marcos will take on Dos Pueblos at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Dos Pueblos and San Marcos are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads. As for Ventura, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Rio Mesa at 7:00 p.m. Rio Mesa has now lost eight straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 28.
