Ygnacio Valley has been on the road for two straight, but on Friday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Miramonte Matadors at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Ygnacio Valley will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 572nd, while the Matadors are ranked 190th).
Last Wednesday, things could have been worse for Ygnacio Valley, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 62-43 loss to the Cougars.
Despite the loss, Ygnacio Valley got a solid performance out of Sa'rye Starks, who scored 26 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Starks is crushing the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Amanda Alatan, who scored six points.
Meanwhile, Miramonte entered their tilt with the Bulldogs with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Everything went Miramonte's way against the Bulldogs on Wednesday as the Matadors made off with a 50-25 victory.
Ygnacio Valley has not been sharp recently as the team's lost ten of their last 13 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-12 record this season. As for Miramonte, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 16-9 record this season.
