Thornton's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Morez Johnson, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 12 rebounds. The match was Johnson's eighth in a row with at least ten points. Chase Abraham was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.
Thornton's win bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Normal Community, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 7-1.
