Pace Academy has gone a perfect 3-0 against Mays recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Pace Academy Knights will welcome the Mays Raiders at 5:55 p.m. Pace Academy will be strutting in after a victory while Mays will be coming in after a defeat.
Last Wednesday, everything went Pace Academy's way against Creekside as Pace Academy made off with an 18-2 win. The matchup marked the Knights' most dominant victory of the season so far.

Dylan Nelson made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over four innings pitched. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Pace Academy is 2-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 2-5 otherwise. Nelson was also solid in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Those three runs gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Miles Mador was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. He is becoming a predictor of Pace Academy's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 1-6 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Alston Mallis, who scored three runs while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.
Pace Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .703. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Mays was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They came up short against M.L. King, falling 11-5.
Andre Brown made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole Three bases. while getting on base in both of his plate appearances. TyReon Byner was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and one RBI.
Pace Academy has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.8 runs over those games. Mays' defeat dropped their record down to 4-8.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Pace Academy has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Mays struggles in that department as they've been averaging 8 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Pace Academy took their win against Mays in their previous meeting back in April of 2022 by a conclusive 17-1. Does Pace Academy have another victory up their sleeve, or will Mays turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
