The Germantown Academy Patriots's game two weeks ago was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They enjoyed a cozy 52-37 victory over Frankford. Given Germantown Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 191st, while Frankford is ranked 538th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Several Pioneers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Cameren Lane, who scored six points along with 13 rebounds. Lane has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Zaire Washington, who scored six points.
Germantown Academy now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Frankford, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Germantown Academy will take on Malvern Prep at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Malvern Prep has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 289 points over their last four games. As for Frankford, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against George Washington at 3:15 p.m. Hopefully George Washington focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 26 on Friday.
