The Averroes Falcon will be playing in front of their home fans against the Apostles Lutheran Falcons at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Averroes will be strutting in after a win while Apostles Lutheran will be coming in after a loss.
Averroes had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They pulled ahead with a 26-25 photo finish over Oakland Military Institute. The win was just what Averroes needed coming off of a 51-28 loss in their prior contest.
Meanwhile, Apostles Lutheran lost to Latino College Preparatory Academy at home by a decisive 26-10 margin on Friday. Apostles Lutheran has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Apostles Lutheran's defeat came about despite a quality game from Bella Calderon, who scored no points along with 25 rebounds and six steals. Calderon is absolutely dominating the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season.
The victory got Averroes back to even at 1-1. As for Apostles Lutheran, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4.
