When it comes to explaining why Yosemite lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jadyn Johnson. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten rebounds. Johnson is absolutely dominating the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Izzy Harper, who scored three points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Fowler's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-9. As for Yosemite, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost nine of their last 11 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-12 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fowler will square off against Caruthers at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Caruthers' favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last eight matchups. As for Yosemite, they will head out on the road to square off against Sierra at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Sierra presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Yosemite in California (Sierra is ranked 337th, while Yosemite is ranked 1052nd).
