The Grace Lancers will square off against the Silverado Hawks at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Grace is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They put the hurt on Vasquez with a sharp 13-4 victory. The result was nothing new for the Lancers, who have now won eight games by six runs or more so far this season.
Kyle Zahn was incredible, firing off two home runs, three runs, and four RBI while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024. Alex Van was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.
They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Grace lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Silverado ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out Indio 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Hawks have posted since April 9th.
Silverado saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Uriel Martin, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs.
Grace's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-11-2. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Silverado, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-11.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Grace has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Silverado struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.2 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
