The Franklin Wildcats are taking a road trip to challenge the St. Mary's Rams at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Franklin will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.
Franklin is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They came out on top against Rocklin by a score of 4-1. That's two games straight that the Wildcats have won by exactly three runs.

Dylan Wood
05/14/25 vs Rocklin | 6 |
05/07/25 vs Folsom | 9 |
04/30/25 vs Cosumnes Oaks | 7 |
Dylan Wood tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out six over five innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Chance Moore was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
Meanwhile, St. Mary's waltzed into their game on Wednesday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Blue Devils.
Nico Bavaro spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on three hits and racked up 13 Ks. Those 13 strikeouts set a new season-high mark for him.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Ethan Silva, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April.
Franklin's record is now 25-7. As for St. Mary's, their record now sits at an identical 25-7.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Franklin has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9 hits per game. However, it's not like St. Mary's struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 4.2 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Franklin came up short against St. Mary's in their previous meeting back in April of 2023, falling 6-2. Can the Wildcats avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
