Caden Brown was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. He struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits (and only one walk). He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two RBI and one double. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Chris Guillory made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs while going 2-for-3. Brandon Scott was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Carrollton). They were the clear victor by a 15-6 margin over Whitewater on Wednesday. The win was nothing new for the Trojans as they're now sitting on six straight.
