The Ridgemont Golden Gophers lost against the Upper Scioto Valley Rams back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Ridgemont took a 40-28 hit to the loss column at the hands of Upper Scioto Valley. Ridgemont has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Ridgemont lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Anna Ramsey, who scored nine points along with four blocks. Jayda Dondrea was another key contributor, scoring four points along with 12 rebounds.
Upper Scioto Valley got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Brielle Cotterman out in front who scored nine points along with 21 rebounds. Cotterman is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last five games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Layla Hunsicker, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
Ridgemont's loss dropped their record down to 1-11. As for Upper Scioto Valley, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-10.
Ridgemont on the road again on Saturday and play against Ridgedale at 10:00 a.m. on January 20th. As for Upper Scioto Valley, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Arlington at 12:00 p.m. Arlington is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.
