The Sterling Tigers's game last Thursday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They skirted past Weld Central 28-25. That's another feather in the cap for Sterling, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Sterling was led to victory by Taylor Tonche and Tatym Dempcy. Tonche scored four points along with six rebounds and five assists, while Dempcy scored nine points along with eight rebounds and two steals. Dempcy hasn't dropped below two steals for five straight games.
Sterling has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-11 record this season. As for Weld Central, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-14.
Sterling will head out on the road to challenge Resurrection Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Resurrection Christian is coming into the contest with six straight wins at home, so Sterling is out to stop a squad with plenty of momentum. Weld Central will take on Eaton at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Eaton is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 54.8 points per game this season.
