The Hillcrest Trojans will venture away from home to take on the Canyon Springs Cougars at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
Hillcrest might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 5-1 to Orange Vista, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Trojans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Hillcrest saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was James Henson, who scored a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Canyon Springs challenged University Prep on Tuesday. Canyon Springs had just enough and edged out University Prep 8-6. The win was familiar territory for the Cougars, who have now won three matches in a row.
Andres Vasquez made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (three). In other pitching news, Jesse Lopez looked comfortable as he tossed 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Hillcrest has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9.1 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Canyon Springs struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.7 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
