This season hasn't been kind to the Palo Alto Vikings, who are still winless after their 11th game. They took a 48-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of Pajaro Valley on Saturday.
Palo Alto's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Karina Ashford, who scored 19 points, and Amalia Tormala who scored 15 points. Ashford scored a full 47.5% of Palo Alto's points, the fifth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Camryn Ogawa, who scored six points.
Palo Alto has fallen quite a ways from their 20-7 record last season and are now at 0-11. As for Pajaro Valley, their win bumped their record up to 1-8.
Palo Alto will be playing in front of their home fans against Homestead at 6:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Pajaro Valley and Pacific Collegiate will face off at 5:30 p.m. on January 2nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
