The Gilman Pirates will face off against the Cadott Hornets at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Gilman took a ten-run defeat the last time they faced off against Alma Center Lincoln, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Pirates sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-6 victory over the Red Raiders on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Pirates have posted since May 8, 2025.

Pockat has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Meanwhile, Cadott can bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They walked away with a 6-2 victory over Augusta.
Jacob Anderson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on seven hits. He has become a key player for Cadott: the team is 2-1 when he allows at most three earned runs, but 5-6 otherwise.
On the hitting side, Isaac Wellner and Joel Weeks did most of the damage at the plate: Wellner got on base in two of his three plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base, while Weeks went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Those two hits gave Weeks a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Pilgrim, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
The win got Cadott back to even at 7-7. As for Gilman, their victory bumped their record up to 9-7.
