In what's become a running theme this season, the Bishop McCort Crushers gave their fans yet another huge victory on Wednesday. They claimed a resounding 66-28 victory over Chestnut Ridge on the road. Bishop McCort's win was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.
Leading Bishop McCort to victory were Gianna Gallucci and Cami Beppler. Gallucci scored 21 points along with six rebounds and three steals, while Beppler scored 21 points along with five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Beppler has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Zucco, who scored ten points along with four steals.
Chestnut Ridge's loss came despite strong showings from Isabella Hillegass and Ashlie Weaver. Hillegass scored eight points along with eight rebounds and two steals, while Weaver scored 13 points along with six rebounds. Hillegass hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for three straight games.
Bishop McCort pushed their record up to 14-0 with that victory, which was their 11th straight on the road. As for Chestnut Ridge, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-7 record this season.
Bishop McCort will be playing in front of their home fans against Richland at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Richland will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings (they are ranked 299th, while Bishop McCort is ranked 20th). As for Chestnut Ridge, they will head out on the road to face off against Bishop Carroll at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Bishop Carroll has three straight wins, Chestnut Ridge has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
