On Monday, the Leuzinger Olympians faced the Sage Hill Lightning in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Leuzinger took a 59-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of Sage Hill.
When it comes to explaining why Leuzinger lost, one person who can't be blamed is Madison Watts. Despite the final result, she scored 29 points along with 8 rebounds. The matchup was Watts' ninth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Dresha Moore, who scored 6 points along with 8 rebounds and 7 blocks.
Leuzinger's loss dropped their record down to 7-2. As for Sage Hill, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 6-0.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing San Clemente the next time they take the court. Leuzinger will head out to face San Clemente at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Sage Hill will head out to face them at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
