There's no place like home for the Chaminade Eagles, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Saturday. They snuck past Harvard-Westlake with a 47-43 win on Tuesday. Despite the win, that was the fewest points Chaminade has scored all season.
Despite the defeat, Harvard-Westlake saw an underclassman step up: Valentina Guerrero scored 14 points along with six rebounds and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Angelina Habis, who scored seven points along with three steals.
Chaminade has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season. As for Harvard-Westlake, their loss dropped their record down to 8-14.
Chaminade will head out on the road to challenge Notre Dame (SO) at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in California (Notre Dame (SO) is ranked 83rd, while Chaminade is ranked 69th). As for Harvard-Westlake, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Sierra Canyon at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Sierra Canyon has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 1,010 points over their last 12 games.
