Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Coachella Valley). They put the hurt on the Yucca Valley Trojans with a sharp 20-1 win on Thursday. The Mighty Arabs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by six runs or more this season.
Dario Davila and Rey Figueroa were major factors while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Davila tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Figueroa tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Coachella Valley is undefeated when he allows at most one walk, but 7-8 otherwise. At the plate, Davila got on base in all five of his plate appearances with three runs, two doubles, and two RBI, while Figueroa got on base in all five of his plate appearances with four runs, three RBI, and one double. Those four runs gave Figueroa a new career-high.
In other batting news, Daniel Ceja was incredible, going 2-for-4 with six RBI, two runs, and two doubles.
