They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 27-5 walloping at the hands of Mountain Empire. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for King-Chavez Community in their matchups with Mountain Empire: they've now lost three in a row.
Leading Mountain Empire to victory were Aisha Acevedo and Carli McGhee. Acevedo scored eight points, while McGhee scored eight points.
King-Chavez Community's loss was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-1. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 4.8 points per game. As for Mountain Empire, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-6.
King-Chavez Community will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Coastal Academy at 3:45 p.m. on January 12, 2024. Mountain Empire is on the road again on Tuesday and play against Warner at 4:00 p.m. on December 19th.
